I love all the opportunities college has. There are clubs, events, and activities where you can meet new people and make connections. I’ve also enjoyed being a part of the campus community. What surprised me most was how much freedom you have. No one is going to remind you about assignments or make sure you go to class, it’s all on you and I wish I knew that it’s okay to ask for help and I also wish I had known how important time management is.

You don’t have to have your whole life figured out at 18. One thing that surprised me after high school is how quickly life changes—you’ll meet new people, face unexpected challenges, and learn things about yourself you never knew. Don’t rush your future or compare your journey to someone else’s. Apply for scholarships early, learn how to budget, take opportunities that help you grow, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. You’ll make mistakes, but you’ll learn from them. Keep the faith!
