What are the dorms really like at San Diego State University?

The dorm situation completely depends on which one you are placed in. For first-years, most dorms have communal bathrooms and are primarily triple rooms. To be completely honest, it's all a lottery. You could end up in one of the newly renovated buildings with updated air conditioning, modern bathrooms, and newer amenities, or in one of the older dorms with fewer upgrades. Along with this, the walk to class varies based on location of the dorm, however, it usually ranges from 10-20 minutes to get to most classes. SDSU is also a very walkable campus, therefore, the walks to class are very scenic and easy but just something to consider. Dorm life is obviously not the most glamorous and will take time to adjust, however, living in the dorms is a great way to meet new people, build friendships, and become part of the SDSU community. From personal experience, although I would never voluntarily go through dorm life again, I have plenty of memories from the dorms that I will hold onto for the rest of my life!
