What is the town or city around UC San Diego like for students?

La Jolla is very very safe, very gorgeous, and very accessible for students! I am a commuter now that I am a senior and you can easily get to the beach in less than 30 minutes, you can find good food in La Jolla, good desserts, and can do so many fun hikes in torrey pines area! It really is a perfect fun little town and the trolley makes it so worth it to go off campus and explore.

How easy is it to get involved in clubs at UC San Diego?

It is super super easy to get involved in clubs at UC San Diego. The first week of school you are going to see many many clubs tabling on Library Walk where you can just go up to them, ask them questions, hear about their club, grab a flyer, and see if you vibe with them! There are more competitive clubs such as Pre-law, pre-med, pre-health fraternities, but there will always be another option that you could consider to join if you don't "get into" the competitive club that you wanted.

How is the dining hall food at UC San Diego?

I am a senior now at UCSD but I lived on campus for the first two years and I personally loved just how many options of food there was on campus compared to other campuses. I would say its a HUGE incentive to come here because of how many healthy options, fun options, variety of food you get being on campus 24/7. Many people love Umi, a sushi restaurant located in Revelle's dining hall. Many also love the sixth college food, with poke options and tacos, nachos, etc.
