My school is very committed to making sure their students succeed. Within your first year, you have a mandatory class dedicated to helping you transition successfully into college life. The social scene is a little strange. My school is a catholic school, predominantly white and very interconnected with high schools. Everyone knows each other. That can be difficult to navigate as a black, out-of-state student but it's important that you keep an open mind but also be very conscious.
