Sophomore · Psychology
What I love most about the University of Alabama is the strong sense of community and the many opportunities to get involved. I was surprised by how easy it was to find support from professors, advisors, and other students. As a first generation college student, I wish I had known that it's okay not to have everything figured out right away. My advice is to get involved early, use campus resources, and step outside your comfort zone. That's where growth and memorable experiences happen.

I’m Andrea, finishing my Master’s in Human Nutrition and soon to be a Registered Dietitian. I’ve led people before, as President of my college’s dietetics group and as media director at my church. I grew up speaking Spanish with Venezuelan roots, so connecting across backgrounds comes naturally. I love cooking and gardening, and I believe small, steady effort grows into something real. I’d love to help students find what they’re good at.

Coming to Alabama wasn't planned for me and I wish I could tell younger me how much the unplanned has benefitted me! I couldn't imagine being anywhere else.
