One thing that surprised me about college was how hard and fun it would be at the same time. I expected it to be like high school, but it offers so much more. I’ve met new friends, connected with professors, and joined organizations. Even though college is expensive, it provides independence, valuable experiences, career opportunities, and the chance to earn a degree.

I'm James Butler from Spring, Texas! I am a part of the Academic Honor Council, TEACH (education organization at Trinity), PRIDE (LGBTQ organization at Trinity), and was a Skyline Scholar. Currently, I work at Yale Young Global Scholars as a Residential Fellow. Also, I work as a College Tutor, Education Major in San Antonio ISD at Thomas Jefferson High School. Finally, I volunteer with Matriculate to advise high-achieving low-income students and prapre them for college applications.
