Hi! I'm Alexis, an incoming third-year student at UCSD studying human developmental sciences with a minor in biology on the pre-PA track. One of the things I love most about UCSD is the variety of opportunities available, whether it's research, healthcare experiences, student organizations, or simply meeting people with different interests and backgrounds. If you are a pre-health, pre-med, or pre-PA student looking for guidance or simply looking for tutoring in courses, feel free to reach out!

What actually helped people get into UC San Diego?
Good grades and meaningful extracurricular activities are definitely important for getting into UC San Diego, but I personally think my PIQ essays played a huge role in my application. Instead of trying to write what I thought admissions officers wanted to hear, I focused on being authentic and sharing experiences that genuinely reflected who I am, what I value, and how I've grown. Looking back, I think the strongest essays are often the ones that feel personal and unique rather than overly focused on impressing admissions. Your grades and activities show what you've done, but your PIQs are your opportunity to show who you are beyond your resume. My advice is to be honest, tell your story, and let your personality come through rather than trying to write what you think is the "perfect" college essay.

How big is Greek life at UC San Diego?
Hi, I'm an incoming 3rd-year at UCSD. I am also in a sorority and have many friends in the Panhellenic community. Sorority & fraternity life (SFL) at UC San Diego is relatively small compared to schools where Greek life dominates campus culture, which is actually something I really like. Because the community is smaller, it feels much more personal and collaborative. While each chapter has its own identity, there is a strong sense of support across the SFL community, and people generally get along well with one another. One thing that stands out to me is how involved everyone is in each other's philanthropy events and fundraisers. It's common to see members from different sororities and fraternities showing up to support one another's events, which helps create a welcoming and connected atmosphere. SFL has been a great way for me to make friends and get involved, but it still feels like just one part of the broader UCSD community rather than the center of campus life.
