Reporti am personally involved in the basement/house show scene and i can say there is a lot happening every weekend. there's at least 5 venues across college ave/the city of new brunswick and for the most part it's local bands playing their own music but during halloweekend the local bands are playing as cover bands. it's an awesome vibe and you can meet a lot of people but it can get overstimulated, pay a $10-15 cover fee, and very squished/pack. really great alternative for those who don't like going to frat parties.
