Pretty nice. I've only lived in a single so far, though, so I can't attest to the roommate experience. The first-year dorms are all pretty out of the way. Carmichael is the best dorm because it is suite style but all suites are in an indoor hallway, but it can be inconvenient living there as they often close down the main campus road to Carmichael for events. There will definitely be insects in the bathrooms of suite or hall style dorms that lead outside, but honestly, don't mind it. The bugs are a feature.
