I love that it's an R1 research school, that mean lots of money for research opportunities. I like that it's an urban campus in the middle of the city. Great food all around. It's got one of the best recreation centers in the us with state of the art equipment and a 50 ft rock climbing wall. There's study abroad opportunities and lots of clubs to join. If you happen to be a parent as I am they have a program called ccampis that pays for the best childcare around at the top daycares.

What I love most about UAB is the opportunity to create my own path while being surrounded by people who genuinely want to see me succeed. I was surprised by how many resources, research opportunities, and support systems are available. I wish I had known sooner that asking questions and getting involved early would make such a big difference in my college experience.
