It's got one of the best recreation centers in the us with state of the art equipment and a 50 ft rock climbing wall. There's study abroad opportunities and lots of clubs to join. I decided to go to a college that is 13 hours away from my home town and I wish I knew just how hard but rewarding that would be. It was difficult to navigate my freshman year far away from home but I realize just how much stronger it made me. I got to build my community. What I love most about Springfield College is the supportive community. The professors are approachable, and there are so many opportunities to get involved. I was surprised by how much independence college requires, but also by how many resources are available to help you succeed. I wish I had known it's okay to be nervous about meeting new people and that you may not find your people right away. Friendships take time, and that's completely normal.
