Pomona College · Freshman
Pomona was not originally where I thought I wanted to go. Over the course of the months-long college admissions process, I grew to understand the significant advantages of education at a Liberal Arts College, to the point where I eventually picked Pomona over much more well-known public R1 univsities, Ivy League and Ivy+ colleges, and other LACs such as Williams, Swarthmore, and Oberlin. I would consider myself especially knowledgeable in the different pros and cons of each type of institution.

Whitman College · Freshman
I'd say that what stands out most about Whitman College is its sense of community. It's a small liberal arts college, which means classes are discussion-based, professors know students by name, and it's easier to build meaningful relationships with both faculty and classmates. That kind of environment can make it feel much more personal than a large university.
